Sometimes a trees crown or canopy can be healthy but to thick. This makes a tree more susceptible to wind damage because the leaves catch the wind much like a kite. By removing some inner foliage (no more than 20%) at one pruning, air can pass freely through trees canopy greatly reducing stress on limbs and the base of the tree. Detailed pruning is the best method for increasing health and longevity of your valuable trees. Tree topping is proven to be very harmful, often resulting in excessive sucker growth, weak connections points and eventually death. If your trees have been topped don't worry we can help.
